Up there with Gavin Ward as the worst referee in the football league? Completely ruined the game today, whistle happy, card happy, and yet somehow didn't spot the most serious fouls (the off-the-ball challenge on Hall in the first half was an absolute disgrace and a clear red card even from the south end of the west stand, but the ref was facing the other way! ). When all four sides of the ground are singing "you're not fit to referee" at once, it's a sad vindiction of your officiating ability.

Also, failing to stop the game for a head injury (as he did with Holty towards the end) is a serious and dangerous error to commit as a referee and hopefully will be reported by our club to the FA. In fact it would be nice to see Wycombe and ourselves team up and complain to them; they'd have to listen then and I think it's fair to say no-one in the ground was happy with that ref's performance today.

When Holt was fouled for the penalty I actually thought that he would wave play on as it would just sum up how s*** he was.... It was probably the only decision he got right all afternoon... How did he give a corner when a Wycombe shot went wide

Set the tone for the afternoon when he gave Wycombe a goal-kick early on, completely baffling everyone in the ground as it was the most obvious corner you'll ever see. Bizarre use of the advantage rule, seemed completely random as to whether he would blow the whistle or not. Twice in the 2nd-half he should have waved play-on, but then when he did he kept blowing up for the initial foul. You can't play advantage for 5 seconds and then blow your whistle if it's wasted. What an idiot. Thought Wycombe should have had a pen late in the day too.

Although I thought it was more ball to hand, it looked to be so inside in the penalty area it was untrue. Boyeson has been around for years, cannot remember him being that bad though.

he is not physically or mentally fit enough to ref a professional game of football. It looked like he was smiling at the northampton fans when he gave the freekick , as if he did it just to piss us off. Although im sure that was not the case

I don't know why we have these constant threads about Referees, they serve no purpose whatsoever and they certaionly never change anything.
In saying that, I suppose letting off steam can help and it's always helpful to have a scapegoat to camourflage your own shortcomings.

It is impossible not to comment on such a performance.
He managed to unite both sets of fans who were equally chanting "you don't know what you're doing" & "we want a referee"
Their goal was clearly a penalty instead of a free kick outside the box & you could have bet your mortgage on the award of a PEN TO US GIVEN HALF A CHANCE TO EVEN THINGS OUT!

He was truely terrible, not quite as bad as Gaving Ward but not far off. Ward has been terrible every time we;ve had him whereas I don't remember this guy being poor before (not saying he hasn't).
As mentioned, the two corner decisions, the one we should have had and the Wycombe one that was a goal kick, we totally bizarre. Calling a player over to speak to him whilst walking backwards away from the player was also unusual. He looked like he actually enjoyed giving the bad decisions as well.
I hate games when the referee dominates, good refs should hardly be noticed instead of thinking we're all there to watch them. perhaps he had an arguement with the missus that morning.
