Great initiative by NTFC to set half price tickets for the morecambe game on tuesday 20th Nov in support of Movember.

I hope they're rewarded with a good crowd.

After last year's Lemmy, I've got to decide upon this year's effort.  Could be a Terry Thomas.

If the crowd is around 4,000 I hope you will all agree reduced prices do not increase attendance.

Why? Gillingham at home, 3600 crowd, 400 Gills= 3200 home fans.

4000 crowd, lets say 100 Morecambe (no chance though) 3900 home fans for a fixture that would have been about 3,000 otherwise. Cold night= lots of extra food and drinks bought

I think morecambe's 2 visits to Sixfields have both been on Tuesday nights, and each time theyve failed to muster an away following of more than 50.

Ok 3,300 then. I based it on last year's game at home to Morecambe where there was just over 4,000. To be fair that was on a Saturday.

Is it possible to look at it as a good will gesture from the club to loyal hard pressed fans, without worrying about instant profit?

A cynic (do we have any of those round here) might say that if you are going to have a good will gesture of reducing your income and giving away 40% of it, you might as well do it when your income is most likely to be at its lowest i.e. against Morecombe on a cold Tuesday evening in November.

Personally, good on the club, its not just about the money, money, money.

Our away following to them may not be much better this season, also a cold Tuesday night.

Morecombe on a cold Tuesday evening in November.

Typical Northerner , just because it will be freezing 'op north , doesn't mean it will be the same here. Didn't you know that it's tropical most days in Northampton . I'm just going to open some windows ,it's that hot   Grin

Maybe it's a trick. I don't think we have any fixtures in Movember.
