Someone translate this for me, please.
No problem. Paul Rodgers has just come onto a messageboard to moan about the fact he's been dropped for a loan signing

Personally I am not sure he will start - think he will come on as a sub

I think this is a good signing he will know how to play on the wing, so our players might learn a thing or two, and they are going to know that if they mess up he's going to be there! Competition for places!

Curious........I would echo all the other comments about Rodgers & Herbert.....
A really good option on the right wing ...and getting better
Reminds me , sort of, of the old West Indies Cricket fast bowlers....once you you think you've seen one speed -whippet off....... on comes some fresh legs just as quick.
A big awkward/ hand- full / nasty type of a target man is really needed....please

And Courtney Herbert still runs with the ball whilst looking at the ground. Enough said.
Lets hope Parker impress
I thought I was the only one noticing this.....!

That little run at Anfield wasn't too shabby. [/quote
You say that but at no point was he in control of the ball ... but yes he did make a goal, which i suppose proves my point, he has made 1 goal this season and not scored any ... hence my point about him and Rogers not being an attacking threat.

Makes sense if Herbert is indeed injured. Rodgers is a defensive right midfielder and we need the option of an attacking winger too

JP was Ramon Rose in another shirt and just as ineffective! There again ALL the midfield and ONE attacker were ineffective!

He was terrible - I would have taken him off after about half an hour to be honest and no idea how he stayed on the pitch to the end. Not a patch on Paul Rodgers and I feel really sorry for Paul, for all that I know he has his weaknesses. The best/worst Parker moment was when he gave the ball away on the half way line, went in to win it back and ended up punting it 50 yards into the corner where Dunn had to go and collect - not sure I've ever seen anything quite like that before. He kept losing track of his midfielder and leaving two of their players on Johnson - clueless and useless.

I'm afraid that what might have been dismissed as management and tactical naivety and part of the learning process is rapidly looking more like ineptitude, especially when Sammo supposedly has the wise old head of Crosby next to him. I cannot for the life of me understand the signing of Parker, never mind his selection. What sort of message does this end to the likes of Rodgers, Herbert, Wedderburn and now McKenzie? I've always been vocal about supporting the selection of our own youngsters ahead of loanees, particularly when those loan players add nothng better to the squad. I also question yet again the selection of Gilligan and Osman; it leaves us too defensive and with no midfield creativity when we have Thornton in effect in the hole behind McKay. Jacobs can be just as effective down the right (he is after all naturally right footed), plus we had Hall on the nech who could have come in at left back to allow Davis to play further forward. The selection today smacked of tinkering. Never mind that Parker is cup tied and cannot play at Ipswich, which will inevitably mean more shuffling and tinkering
Bemused....

We've already got Slowe, why do we need another useless winger?

Thank God Parker's cup-tied - I don't want to see him at Ipswich or, frankly, ever again in a Cobblers shirt after that display. I could actually believe it was one of those George Weah's cousin scam things and he's not actually a footballer at all. It wasn't so much what he did on the ball as his complete lack of awareness and understanding of what was going on around him that was the problem. Have to agree, Gilligan was out of it today, but that team could quite simply have been so much stronger with Rodgers on the right instead of Parker, or Jacobs on the right with Hall at left back and Davis pushed up...and Wedderburn instead of Gilli from the start.

Made Rose at Southampton look like a star performance.

He seemed to work hard and put himself about, but as others have mentioned, no positional sense whatsoever, went tearing around the pitch and left Johnson exposed. Too eager to impress imo. Reminded me of Harris in his early cameos last season.

I said earlier that the signing was curious........ it now appears to be rank stupidity.... the "player was offered to the club"...what is that all about... it certainly says a lot about the decision making process and management ability at the club. If I was Paul Rodgers, I really would wonder why ....... thank god he is cup-tied, although the cup heroics seem to be massively affecting and clouding the league concentration / effort...not for the first time in our history! Come on Sammo sort this out before it becomes a real problem

Yeah 100% agree regarding Parker, posted very much the same before i set my eyes on this thread. It's all very poor stuff, indeed.

I know he has his moments but the last few games I felt his pace has added something to the team that I could not see in this new loanee - he seemed to be all over the pitch and never in one position - very ineffective.
