EADT:
The Blues will field a young team when they seek a place in the last eight of the Carling Cup against League Two Northampton Town tonight (kick-off 7.45pm). Manager Roy Keane: “It will be a young team, but the kids have not let us down yet."

I'm sure, unlike Liverpool, they will have more than enough 'insurance' on the bench.

No McKenzie tonight which is a shame. No mention of Osman, either, in the Chron or club website.

Ipswich will play Murphy, their reserve goalie, Tom Eastman and Troy Brown, two very young defenders, Luke Hyam, a teenage midfielder; two rookie strikers in Ronan Murray and Reggie Lambie; and Connor Wickham, 17 but 6 foot 5 and built like a brickhouse. As Red Ted suggests, they usually have 'insurance' on the bench.

What's up with Leon? Because he goes and so does any slim chance of a goal

His knee cannot cope with two games a week and he is unwilling to take the injections in it that he used to at Norwich, Charlton etc.

Strange that the preview does not mention Osman, or Herbert, who I presume is still resting his leg. It does say that Hinton will probably be playing though.

I rather hoped Leon could make the bench and come on late in the match for a cameo, goal-winning ten minutes. We are going into the match with virtually no fire-power. Mind you, it was the same at Liverpool, bar Herbert.

Thanks. I'd rather see the young Cypriot brought on, or the American skyscraper.

Well if it is a case that he can only play one game this week because of his knee then i rather him play on Sat against Gillingham. And tonight a chance for Guinan to become a hero and earn the salary
