It was a fantastic game, with Victoria playing some great stuff. Charlton looked to have sneaked an undeserved draw before Northwich scored a great winner. One of the few 'neutral' matches I've managed to stay interested in throughout. National papers described it as a 'classic' on the Monday morning.

You were obviously watching a different game from the one I watched. Northwich created one move involving twenty-two passes where Charlton couldn't touch the ball. Sure, they mixed it up, as all successful sides do. Our Championship side of 86-87 could hoof the ball. It didn't prevent them from playing some lovely football as well, though.

Maybe it was their 2nd Round game with Lincoln that was a hoofball affair. I definitely remember watching Northwich on the TV in the FA Cup and thinking what a shyte match it was.

It was Lincoln. A dire game, I agree. The moral: never go back to the same place expecting the magic to repea itself!

Sounds like a good day out. Shame it's not televised. Likely to be more exciting that FC of United, mid-table in the Evo-Stick League. Probably selected by a United fan at tv headquarters.

Their first FA Cup first round game. They were inevitably going to be on

I still think this is an important game for us. If we can improve the league form and move in to mid-table a decent cup run would keep the season alive.

I see we've been allocated 1,755, all on a first come, first served basis. They may be fortunate that we are on such a poor run because had we been flying in the League that may not have been enough!

I tought the club had announced that all entry was on the gate, did FGR under estimate the number of fans who may travel?
