Remember the appeal for Bayo, which came with Brighton's backing? It simply led to a longer ban. The FA care sweet FA about lower division clubs.

Although Bayo did throw the player to the ground in what looked like a wrestlling move it was a clear red card. Johnson's sending off looked harsh from that video but I expect the FA to reject the appeal and add 1 game to the ban

Looks harsh...but appeals rarely prove worthwhile.

Little chance of success, I reckon - Soft though it was he definitely had an arm on the Oxford player and that's all they'll need to vindicate the referee's decision. Should see him miss the Gillingham game too - not a very smart decision unless someone really sympathetic to our plight is going to review it.

Having seen the penalty again, it was even harsher than I first though (and I thought it was harsh on the day). Clist has tumbled easy (after a poor first touch) and Dunn has the ball in his hands as he goes down.
Worth a shot I suppose. I forgot it was only a one match ban for a pro foul.

In fairness to the ref, i thought he did us a massive favour by not sending Davis off earlier in the half.

No matter how minimal, if he made contact with the player then by the letter of the law he should be sent off. He was the last man. I can't help feeling this appeal is desperate and will backfire on us.

I wasn't at the game and I was watching SSN and it came up on screen that JJ was sent off for 'violent conduct' surely they were wrong and it wad a professional foul?

Having watched the incident on the BBC website the words "desperate" and "frivolous" come to mind.

Desperate with little chance of success! These sort of appeals only get turned over if you're Swansea, Cardiff etc when the Welsh FA have a say in things for appeals against the English Hordes.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Add this to the list of ever growing poor decisions. An act of utter desperation by the club In my opinion, and i feel this won't be overturned, and to rub it in further an extra game ban and not forgetting the four figure sum that it costs to appeal. Happy days!

Cn people remember you dont automatically get the extra game if it doesnt come off, thats only when the FA deem the appeal 'frivolous'

That description seems perfect for our appeal.

Also bare in mind, in most cases its turned down because thats exactly what it is >> 'frivolous', (in other words don't waste their time!)

After freeze-framing the video a lot, I'm certain Clist went down with no hope of getting the ball, and Johnson's touch was minimal. Unfortunately clubs like ours get treated with no balance of fairness when we appeal, all they'll be looking for is anything that backs up the ref's decision. They won't be starting from a neutral position, unfortunately. It does nothing to help fans to trust footballing authority.

This is a stupid appeal. He was the last man and it was a foul (however soft). Mindless decision by the club stinking of desperation.
