I'm pretty sure Sammo won't be sacked, so we may aswell all get behind him and the team, no matter what our views and thoughts are on who should be in charge.
I can absolutely assure you that sooner or later he will.

Changing the topic slightly, to Gillingham's visit, their website has a guide to Saturday's trip, which includes a 'fact' which will come as a shock to many of us: 'Northampton has a fine town centre'. There wasn't even a hint of irony. Gills expected to bring 800 fans with them.
Gillingham is considering by most fans to possibly be the worst team in the footall league in terms of the quality of the town, so maybe it's just in context.

That's desperately vague, Ted. It's a bit like saying 'I can assure you that sooner or later I will die.'

I think you're right. It is an absolute hell-hole. It makes Stevenage, Luton and yes, even our town look nice in comparison. Let's hope we can demonstrate superiority on the field as well.

Town centre is getting better but there are still way too many empty shops. Have you seen how many empty units there are in Peacock Place recently That said its far superior than Gillingham Town Centre

Peacock Place is being completely refurbed and re-named Market Walk.
Chron published the details a month or two ago.

absolutly ridiculous thread! what a tit... if another league 2 fan comes on this site and sees that! no matter what the situation never say that you hope the team you support lose. what will be will be, and if sammo is under pressure then sooner rather then later, Cardoza will act and get rid. Twat! seeing thats made me sooo angry.
I'm sure you'll be angrier when we get relegated, We all know from previous experience that DC will wait too long to do the right thing. This just proves that most of our fans are happy for us to be sh*t, and in that case we get what we deserve. It's a case of Blind loyalty. and just to be clear, I would love us to win every game but just think that for the good of the future of this club 1 defeat might actually be of benefit if it means we can sort out a problem that has been with us for a long time. I was there when we finished in 92nd place in the league, and i can tell you there is no way i want that to happen again

I never ever hope we lose a game, no matter what, ludicrous.
You do if you've spent hundreds to come back to UK to watch your beloved Cobblers in a once in a lifetime chance at Elland Rd..but wait..Leeds or Cobblers in the FAC 3rd blows that out the water.. ...Hereford disposed of Leeds..Walsall likewise the Cobblers....Trip back on. You just haven't had the situation!

If you ever - under any circumstances - want your side to lose then you are not a true fan. I'm sorry, but I think the whole idea is ridiculous and insulting, towards the club, the manager, players and, most of all, the fans who look forward (often in vain) to a little ray of sunshine on a Saturday afternoon.
Tosh! I will be there on Saturday, obviously desperate for a win over the fat one and his chums..and in that respect, wouldn't actively support against the Cobblers. However, don't come all the self-righteous..as said in earlier post - you just haven't had a scenario that warrants such!

Every time I walk through Gillingham town centre I half expect to see Mad Max walking the other way, it's a cultural wasteland. You know you're in trouble when the only choice of food is McDonalds or Wimpy. I'm not surprised our toilet of a town centre is viewed as decent by people from Gillingham, it must be like visiting New York or Milan for them.

Despite my current feelings of negativity about everything Northampton Town related i do think we'll win on Saturday, and win well. Although i have thought that about our last 6 games....

Hypothetically, maybe if we have nothing to play for on the last day of a season and a win for the opposition sends Peterborough or McDons down!
Bloody hell, I thought that's what I'd written all those posts ago. The mind must be going.

Yes..........And I'm not a liar..........
So the scenario is we've just lost our seventh match on the trot (a club record) to a Gillingham side who hadn't won away since DL was a girl. Go on then, make your case for Sammo.

If you don't believe me, ask yourself this. If we had any manager at the club other than an ex-Cobblers legend, would you seriously still be backing him.
Note: Anybody answers yes to that last question is a liar!
Marvo's right Sammo is treated differently because he is a club legend and for me it's not a case of backing him or not it's about respect. He's serve this club for a long time and given us some memorable moments as both player and manager. If the chairman can't make the decision he will destroy the legend so if you want to shout abuse at someone on Saturday then aim it at him.
